This position will be located at our Aeronautics Systems sector in Clearfield, UT. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Global Autonomous and Tactical Solutions (GATS) operating unit. **Roles and Responsibilities to include but not limited to:** + Analyze, research, and develop structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design, or operation of product to include structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronics, power plant, armament, heating and ventilating, equipment, and maintenance designs. + Analyze damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and structural modeling. + Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis. + Tools utilized may include CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer and a variety of software applications. **This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Structural Engineer level (T01) or a Structural Engineer level (T02).** For a broader consideration, please consider completing a profile in our campus candidate community. The candidate must: + Be completing or has completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. + Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree. + Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start. **Basic Qualifications for a Structural Engineer (T02):** A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must: + Be completing or has completed their Master’s degree from an accredited institution or is completing or has completed their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 2 years of structural engineering experience. + Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree. + Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start. **Preferred Qualifications** + Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher + Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular). + Interest in performing structural analysis through hand calculations, and through the use of Finite Element Modeling (FEM) tools such as FEMAP (Nastran), Abaqus, ANSYS, or similar. + Interest in performing structural design for aerospace components, tooling, test equipment, and other systems. Have experience with or desire to learn usage of: 3D CAD modeling software, 2D drawing tools, product lifecycle management system, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). + Coursework in or experience using design tools such as Siemens NX and Teamcenter + Demonstrate the ability to provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives. **Pay Range:** + Associate Structural Engineer (T01): $63,900 - $95,900 + Structural Engineer (T02): $77,200 – $115,800 Campusjob **Salary Range:** $63,900 - $95,900 **Salary Range 2:** $77,200 - $115,800 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
