Northrop Grumman is seeking aspiring Electrical Engineers to join the Mission Systems Engineering Intern Program. This position will be located in San Diego, CA. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Networked Information Solutions (NIS) Division. At the Northrop Grumman San Diego campus our Communication/Network Solutions BU’s create the next generation of communications and signal processing systems. We take ideas from concept to working systems aboard the world’s most advanced platforms right here in always-sunny San Diego. We design in our campus of labs and on-site advanced manufacturing just minutes from the beach and everything for which southern California is famous. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic people-focused environment where he/she will interact with users, customers and other developers.
As an intern, you’ll participate in a summer internship program to develop competencies in a variety of systems engineering specializations that may include:
Research, plan, design and develop electrical components, equipment, systems and networks
Apply research to planning, design, development, and testing of systems
Problem solving
Develop or recommend solutions to technical problems
Designs electrical products and systems
This position will require onsite work.
Basic Qualifications
A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2025.
Be majoring in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a very closely related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree
Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2025.
Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
Have the ability to obtain Special Access Program within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)Experience in working in an autonomous work environment on complex projects. Experience in working on business or engineering full life-cycle projects from project inception through launch. Knowledge of HFSS, NEC or FEKOProgramming skillsIntern Pay Range:
Bachelor’s: $20.25 to $37.25 per hour
Master’s: $29.25 to $46.25 per hour
