The Marketing department develops and implements creative marketing campaigns including advertising, social media, and bookstore displays. Marketers work closely with sales to learn what’s happening in the market and, to help them promote and share their enthusiasm about books and writers.
Some responsibilities may include:
• Researching new media contacts, influencer, and brand partnerships for title marketing campaigns
• Collaborating with the team to create content for author and imprint social media platforms
• Assisting in select marketing book mailings (remotely)
• Attending team meetings to help brainstorm promotional opportunities for titles
Departments
The departments seeking an intern may include: Penguin Press, Random House, Ten Speed Press/Potter, Random House Worlds, DK We are also looking for interns to focus on Consumer Marketing (Analytics), Ad Buying, Education Marketing, Retail Marketing, School & Library Marketing, International Marketing, and Metadata Services
INTERNSHIP PROGRAM DETAILS Penguin Random House offers an immersive 20-week PAID, REMOTE internship opportunity through the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026, available in our adult, children’s, and corporate divisions. Interns will have the opportunity to learn how to create marketing book campaigns, projects to develop skills in marketing books and receive robust training from our marketing teams to support professional growth. Our interns are also exposed to the publishing process and our business through panels, networking events, and a mentoring program!
What you study does not matter! We are looking for your desire to work with books, your drive to learn and your curiosity for the publishing industry.

REQUIREMENTS & ELIGIBILITY
• Must be ready to work full-time on or before June 2026 (You do not need to be enrolled in college or have a degree to apply to our internship program).
• Able to work 21 hours/week throughout the program
• Available and commit to the program working September 15th, 2025 – November 21st, 2025 AND January 12th, 2026 – March 20th, 2026
• Must reside in the U.S. for the duration of the internship program
• Must be over the age of 18
Interns are paid $21/hour.
