2025 Graduate – Submarine Test and Evaluation Analyst

We are seeking talented, inquisitively-minded individuals to join a dedicated team of analysts focused on providing critical algorithmic and human factors assessments for submarine technology areas relied upon by our nation’s sailors. Our team works heavily with system data and observations, combining sound technical acumen, creative problem solving, and acquired domain knowledge to develop relevant and novel test strategies and measurement approaches. Test team findings are key drivers of innovation that push the boundaries of system capabilities and improve overall system utility. As a member of this team, you will be supported by and collaborate with a complementary ensemble of accessible subject matter experts and fellow analysts, and will have ample opportunity to drive the direction of the work and present findings to decision makers. As a member of our advanced development test team, you will: Apply data analytics, data science, systems engineering, and signal processing to evaluate new submarine combat system technologies (in-lab and with opportunities at-sea) Design tests, metrics, and analysis tools that measure performance, usability, and value added, including exploring new approaches Execute tests and collect system data Analyze, visualize, and communicate methodologies and results Join, collaborate with, and consult for a community of submarine system experts that include researchers, developers, engineers, and current and former Fleet personnel Appreciate the impact of your work by interacting with and responding to the needs of Fleet sailors (end users) Enjoy high visibility through regular presentations to the program sponsor and other partners Qualifications You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you... Have a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Human Factors, or a related field with a strong track record of academic performance Are inquisitive and willing to learn new skills and expand your capabilities Have classroom and/or internship experience with data analysis Have classroom and/or internship experience with computer programming in languages such as MATLAB, Python, etc. Have excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and have demonstrated success while working within a team environment Are willing and able to travel occasionally to participate in test events and attend meetings with government sponsors and operational stakeholders Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. APL provides eligible staff with a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, and training and development.
