2025 Guardian Summer Intern, Data Engineering
Our 2025 Internship Program is a paid 10-week learning experience where you will be immersed in the daily environment of a thriving global financial services company. You will gain invaluable industry and organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments, in addition to engaging in projects that directly affect our business, interact with senior leaders in conversational settings, and network with employees and interns across our offices. This 10-week internship provides you with realistic experiences and information of what it is like to work at Guardian.
You’ll join our Enterprise Data & Analytics organization, whose mission is to be trusted partners who continuously enable valuable and scalable customer solutions. Through your passion for Data Engineering, machine learning and data-driven decision making, you will be instrumental in shaping a future where data not only informs but also drives us forward. As a Data Engineering intern, you will play a key role in this exciting journey. Your contributions will go beyond coding, as you'll help bring life to ideas, transforming innovative ideas into tangible solutions that directly impact our business and customers. Internship Dates:
The internship program will run from Monday, June 2, 2025- Friday, August 8, 2025.

You are:
Pursuing a master's degree with 6+ months of experience or PhD degree with 1+ years of experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields (graduation date of December 2025- June 2026) who is fueled by collaboration, able to listen and make quick decisions and thrive in a goal-oriented environment.

Hands on experience in working with Python, SQL, PySpark and bash scripts. Proficient in software development lifecycle and software engineering practices.Experience in developing and maintaining robust data pipelines for both structured and unstructured data to be used by Data Scientists to build ML Models.Experience working with Cloud Data Warehousing (Redshift, Snowflake, Databricks SQL or equivalent) platforms and experience in working with distributed framework like Spark.Experience with machine learning frameworks (like Keras or PyTorch) and libraries (like scikit-learn, xgboost).Proven understanding of machine learning life cycle, data mining, and ETL techniques.You will:

Salary Range$20.00 - $35.00The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
