We are seeking a dedicated individual to help us define, design and test innovative capabilities and solve interoperability challenges. As a member of our team you will work collaboratively to provide high quality contributions to our sponsor's most critical challenges. Your primary responsibility will be to support analyses of next generation military systems by developing and testing advanced mathematical concepts, including machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms, in any or all of the following areas: Evaluate specific behavior in end-to-end "Sensor-to-Shooter" Kill Chains, and explore the fundamental impact of this behavior on the Kill Chain performance. Implement and test new algorithms in analysis-based Modeling and Simulation code, typically done in MATLAB. Requires working with subject-matter-experts (SME) throughout the development, test, and analysis process. Conduct analysis studies using the M&S capabilities to examine specific questions about expected system or kill chain system of systems behavior or performance over a variety of scenarios. Qualifications You meet our minimum qualifications for the position if you... Have or are working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or similar degree. Are skilled in and/or have knowledge of Proficiency in mathematics, basic physical sciences, and use of computers in problem solving. Are able to obtain Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship. Have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Why Work at APL? The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
