The Co-op assignment will be with the Biologics Discovery team within Abbott Diagnostics Core Lab R&D. The R&D team discovers and designs biologics for use in diagnostic products including core laboratory immunoassays and biowearables. The team consists of scientists with subject matter expertise in molecular biology, enzymology, cell culture, microbiology, and protein engineering. In addition to contributing to ongoing biologics discovery projects, the team is expanding their bioinformatics and bioprospecting capabilities.
Co-Op assignment will contribute to building protein design workflows through leveraging of publicly available Computational Biology and Artificial Intelligence tools. A background in Python is required.

+ Candidates must be currently enrolled at an accredited graduate program
+ GPA of 3.0 or greater
+ Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
+ Ability to learn quickly and work independently with minimal direct supervision
+ Candidate must be available to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the 6-month Co-op session
+ Students must be able to work in the US without requiring sponsorship
The base pay for this position is $15.85 – $31.65 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
