Description/Job Summary FCS Financial's 2025 Marketplace Internship Program - 12 Week Opportunity for College Students FCS Financial's agricultural/rural lending and related financial services internship is a Unique, Rewarding, and Memorable Experience!! At FCS Financial, part of the nationwide Farm Credit System, we are looking for Marketplace Interns to join our Team for the summer of 2025 for our 12-Week Internship Opportunity! FCS Financial is a member of the largest agriculture lending cooperative in the United States today. The Marketplace Internship is designed to expose the student to all areas of FCS Financial! Working with several mentors within our Central Office and 21 branch locations across Missouri, interns learn the components of the lending process, from meeting the customer and taking the application, through credit analysis and decision, to appraisal and loan closing. Additional time will be spent on learning credit fundamentals and credit philosophy. Besides working in our Central Office, learning about our Central Office functions (Accounting and Finance, Human Resources, Information Services, Operations, Legal, Audit, Marketing) in Jefferson City, interns will work in multiple branch locations with the local staff and regional specialists (Credit, Sales and Customer Service, Crop Insurance, Risk Management, Appraisal, Loan Services) to experience first-hand the level of service and personal relationships we have with our customers. Interns will also complete one or more projects identified by FCS that are hands-on in nature and are approved by our Executive Leadership Team to add value to the Association. Presentations to the Board of Directors, Executive and Senior Leadership Teams, mentors and other staff are done in late July prior to the end of the internship. Marketplace Interns are assigned to one of our three teams in Missouri: + Team #1 is located in Northern Missouri. + Team #2 is located in Central Missouri. + Team #3 is located in Southern Missouri. The Starting hourly wage is $18.00 per hour (Subject to Change) This position is classified as Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Department: Marketplace Services Reports To: Senior Vice President, Human Resources or Designee Supervises: None This 12-Week Internship opportunity typically begins on the last full week of May and will conclude the second week of August. Responsibilities/Duties Percentage Job Functions 50% Internship Program - (12 Weeks) + Learn the components of the lending process + Learn credit fundamentals and credit philosophy + Learn the process of appraising real and chattel properties + Learn the variety of risk management options offered by FCS Financial including crop, livestock, and life insurance. 20% Projects + Complete one or more projects identified by FCS that are hands-on in nature and designed to add value to the company. + Presentations to the Board of Directors, senior leadership, mentors and other staff will be conducted towards the end of the internship. 20% Communication + Work with several mentors within various areas of the Association. + Interact with FCS staff as a team member. 10% Marketing + Learn about customer relationships and marketing and contribute to FCS image as the leading agriculture financial institution committed to customers. n/a Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization. Required Skills Minimum Qualifications + College sophomores, juniors, first semester seniors, or graduate students + Desired degree programs are Agricultural Business, Agricultural Economics, Animal Science, Agronomy, Agricultural Education, Agricultural Communications, General Agriculture, Business, Finance + Minimum 2.5 GPA Required Knowledge and Skills + General knowledge of FCS Financial + General knowledge of the agricultural industry + General knowledge of agriculture/rural communities + General knowledge of financial services industry + General knowledge of basic financial/accounting terms and applications + Skill in using Microsoft technologies including e-mail, word and spreadsheet processing + Oral and written communication skills sufficient to discuss a variety of job-related topics, and to effectively communicate complex topics to a variety of audiences + Responsible to appropriately protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the Association's systems and data and clients' data
