Job Description
Coop/Intern candidates pursuing a degree in electrical engineering technology (ASET) or electrical.
Engineer (BSEE) is welcomed to apply. Transportation to the Assigned Area Work Center Required.
This internship is with the Field Communications Telecommunications Test department responsible for assisting in the coordination, configuration, installation, and operation of assigned systems and projects involving electric transformer monitoring devices, telecom battery systems, and infrared thermography.
Interpreting various reports to identify patterns and trends, across the division and in specific work groups then help provide strategic direction to leadership.
Monitoring industry activities and propose independent learning opportunities for the assigned group employees (including best practices)
Developing Training presentations and Procedural manuals for management
Reviews test reports of electrical equipment including battery systems, backup generators, and other systems.
Identifies developing trends that may lead to system failures and makes recommendations based on data. Reads and interprets engineering drawings such as schematics, wiring, logic and interconnections diagrams and updates any field changes.
Work with supervision to ensure job aids, engineering documentation, material, and test equipment is available for task execution. Additionally, shadow Field Engineers and Supervision in the field conducting relay maintenance, troubleshooting.
Requirements
Must be a student or already enrolled in a program pursuing a degree in related fields: Engineering or Computer Science.
Ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels of the organization and with counterparts in outside organizations.
Ability to think and act strategically in a fast- paced environment with frequently shifting and/or conflicting priorities.
Ability to strategically evaluate and implement high-level programs and initiatives.
Demonstrated expertise in the use of software applications for development of decision analysis models (for example Power BI).
Clear and concise written communication skills.
Strong spoken communication skills, including the ability to make presentations before a variety of audiences.
Strong mental acuity including the ability to discuss ideas intelligently and be persuasive.
Extensive analytical skills including the ability to draw sound conclusions and act decisively.
Project coordination skills.
