What You’ll Do
New Product Manufacturing Engineers (NPMEs) are an essential component of Applied Materials’ new product development and are critical to their preparation and introduction into volume manufacturing. The NPME is a strategic function within Worldwide Operations that works closely with Design Engineering, Product Marketing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Customer Support to transform new designs into marketable and manufacturable products that seamlessly merge with existing operational strategies.
About Our Program
Your journey begins with a mix of extensive classroom training sessions and in-depth, hands-on exposure to our high-tech products. You’ll work alongside experienced technicians in our volume manufacturing factories before joining one of eight existing NPME teams, becoming an active member for 3-4 months before rotating to the next. Although NPME methodologies and culture are consistent, the products each business develops and the challenges they face in the market are different, making each rotation a unique learning experience. As part of the program, you’ll rotate between locations in Santa Clara, CA and Austin, TX; at the end of the one-year program, you’ll have enough exposure to our teams to determine where you’d like to take your next steps in a permanent role.
