We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Firmware / Embedded Software Engineering Intern to join our Mechatronics team within Research & Development.
Job Summary:
As a Firmware / Embedded Software Engineering Intern in the Mechatronics team, you will work alongside experienced engineers to develop software and firmware for our pipettes. You will assist with the design, implementation, testing, and documentation of software/firmware solutions for these embedded systems. You will work with cross-functional teams, including Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Quality Control, and Manufacturing, to ensure that products are designed and tested to meet functional requirements, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
Responsibilities:Assist in the design, implementation, testing, and documentation of firmware solutions for pipettes.Develop firmware for embedded systems, wireless communication applications (preferably Bluetooth Low Energy), and/or mobile applications (IOS or Android).Collaborate with Mechanical and Electrical Engineering teams to integrate software/firmware solutions into functional systems.Perform feasibility studies, prototyping, testing, and documentation of new product concepts and improvements to existing products.Assist in the creation and maintenance of software/firmware design and testing documentation, including requirements, specifications, test plans, and test reports.What You Need to Succeed
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Embedded Systems Programing: 1 year or class/project experience (Required)Strong knowledge of software/firmware design, programming, and testing principles.Proficient in at least one of the following areasProgramming embedded systems in C or C++Experience with wireless communication protocols, preferably Bluetooth Low EnergyExperience writing IOS or Android Applications.Familiarity with embedded systems and their integration with mechanical and electrical components.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.Previous experience with mechatronics or pipette design is a plus.
