Department Summary
We are searching for a motivated summer intern to work on developing innovative data visualization tools for genetic and multi-omics data. This internship will focus on expanding existing tools, such as PheWeb, to integrate additional data types, including epigenomics, single-cell RNA-seq (scRNA-seq), proteomics, and other multi-omics datasets. The intern will have the opportunity to design, implement, and deploy advanced interactive visualization platforms, providing researchers with an intuitive and dynamic interface to explore complex biological datasets.
This internship position is located in South San Francisco, CA, USA (on-site).
Key Responsibilities
Develop and enhance visualization tools for integrating and exploring genetic, epigenomic, and multi-omics data.
Expand tools like PheWeb to incorporate new data modalities such as scRNA-seq, proteomics, and epigenome data.
Design and deploy interactive front-end applications for multi-omics data visualization.
Collaborate with geneticists, computational biologists, and data scientists to understand user needs and implement effective visualization solutions.
Participate in talks, journal clubs, and general research laboratory activities.
Program Highlights
Intensive 12-week, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
