Genentech, a leader in biotechnology, is seeking a highly talented and motivated experimental intern to contribute to cutting-edge research in Aviv Regev’s laboratory. The Regev lab aims to accelerate biological and therapeutic discovery by integrating experimental and computational approaches.
This internship position is located on-site in South San Francisco, CA.
The Opportunity
Assist in the development of advanced single-cell genetic screening technologies (e.g. conducting genetic screens, experimentally validating screen hits, etc.).
Apply molecular biology, genetics, cell engineering, and sequencing techniques to support projects.
Use basic programming skills to analyze and interpret collected data.
Communicate experimental plans and results effectively with lab members and iterate on experimental designs.
Program Highlights
Intensive 12-week, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
Program start date is in May/June (Summer), 2025.
A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.

Who You Are
Required Education
Must have attained a Bachelor's Degree (not currently enrolled in a graduate program).
Required Majors
Biological engineering, biology, chemistry, or related science and engineering disciplines.
Required Skills
Experience with experimental molecular technology development.
Familiarity with CRISPR-based genome editing.
Basic programming skills for data analysis and interpretation.
Preferred Qualifications
2025 GEM Fellows are highly preferred.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $31.00-$33.00 hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
