2025 Summer Intern- Safety, Health, & Environment (SHE)
The Position

The Opportunity:

As a part of the Oceanside Biomanufacturing Operations we serve this mission by delivering a safe working environment, robust wellness programs, and environmental stewardship that serves our patients, as well as the local community. We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic interns to join our Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) team to help us maintain and enhance our standards.

As a SHE Intern, you will support the SHE department in various projects and initiatives to ensure compliance with safety regulations, promote a healthy work environment, and contribute to environmental sustainability efforts. This is an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate to gain hands-on experience and make a meaningful impact in the field of SHE. Examples of tasks may include:

Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of SHE programs and initiatives.

Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.

Participate in incident investigations and support the preparation of reports and documentation.

Collaborate with different departments to promote and enforce SHE policies and practices.

Collect and analyze data related to safety, health, and environmental performance metrics.

Support the SHE team in ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations.

Participate in sustainability projects aimed at reducing the company's environmental footprint.

Perform other duties as assigned by the SHE Manager.

Program Highlights

Intensive 12-weeks, full time (40 hours per week) paid internship with program start dates between May and June 2025

Who You Are (Required):

Must be currently enrolled in a degree program at a college/university

Applicants must be age 18 or older for this opportunity.

Preferred Majors/Coursework: Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:

Strong interest in safety, health, and environmental issues.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficient in Google Workspaces (Slides, Sheets, Chat, Drive, etc).

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Basic knowledge of SHE regulations and standards is a plus.

The expected hourly rate range for this position based on the primary location for this position of Oceanside is $23- $28. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, level, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
