Job DescriptionThe Biologics Process Development team's mission is to develop and implement manufacturing processes that ensure reliable supply of drug substance for clinical and commercial biotherapeutic products through the application of science and cross functional teamwork. The purification/downstream team, as a sub-function, supports the development of processing desired yield and purity of a target bioproduct as drug substance using separation techniques.
Job Description:
The downstream process development (DSP) internship project during summer of 2025 (June – August) focuses on high-throughput (HTP) workflow with enhanced automation for buffer preparation capability. A dedicated liquid handler (LH) and 4-probe micro pH meter has been acquired to accelerate a 96-well plate screening workflow. The goal of the project is to integrate the updated HTP buffer creation equipment and demonstrate timesaving realization (reduce 1-day requirement down to 1-2 hours).
How You Will Contribute:
Internship responsibilities include
Assessing current DSP lab buffer preparation practice and capabilitiesDemonstrating accurate production of HTP buffer preparation by Lynx LHPerforming a use-case study(s) /applicability of the HTP buffer on a 96-well plate format screening e.g., optimizing molarity/pH for chromatographic elution conditionsPresenting economics/advantage (or other findings) of highthroughput buffer preparationAuthoring user guidance documents including and not limited to principles on biological buffers, development workflow/playbook, and equipment operation. Work performed is expected to add value to strengthen the usability of HTP in DSP workflow, e.g. screening at early stages of process development.Internship Development Opportunities:
