2025 Summer Internship - High Content Genetic Perturbation Screens

Department Summary

This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in the field of high content genetic perturbation screen. You will be involved in analyzing large-scale genetic perturbation maps to compare cellular states and map drug responses across various systems. This project aims to enhance our understanding of how specific genetic perturbations influence cellular states, both in normal and cancer settings.

This internship position is located in South San Francisco, on-site.

The Opportunity

- Analyze and interpret transcriptomic data at both single-cell and bulk levels.
- Compare cellular states and map drug responses using large-scale genetic perturbation maps.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to draw meaningful insights from complex datasets.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations to communicate findings.

Program Highlights

 Intensive 12-weeks full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.

Program start dates are in May/June (Summer).

A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. 

Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry. 

Who You Are (Required) 

Required Education:

You meet one of the following criteria:

- Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student).

Required Majors: Background in biology, genetics, bioinformatics, biostatistics, or a related field.

Required Skills: Experience in transcriptomics, proficiency in python and R (python preferred), strong stats background

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Experience with transcriptomic data analysis is highly desirable.

Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (Python preferred).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. 

The expected salary for this position based on the primary location of  California is $50 hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
