2025 Summer Internship Program - Community & Economic Development (CED) Intern

The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s Community and Economic Development (CED) Department is seeking a full-time intern for summer 2025. The CED Department seeks to improve the economic mobility and resilience of people and places in the Southeast by conducting research and creating data tools to uncover the barriers to and opportunities for improved economic mobility, engaging stakeholders to help organizations and communities understand relevant issues and undertake cross sector solutions; and tracking and elevating issues facing the Southeast’s lower-income residents. It acts as a bridge between research and practice, connecting researchers, businesses, and policymakers with innovative approaches to creating economic opportunity through education and employment. As appropriate, the position also may offer the opportunity to learn about and participate in broader Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta activities. **DESCRIPTION OF WORK:** + Analyzing data and reporting on various community and economic development issues in support of research papers and projects + Developing/maintaining contact databases + Conducting literature reviews + Assisting with preparations for and hosting of virtual events and conferences + Writing and reviewing articles for Partners Update or Workforce Currents (online publications) + Assisting in the development of surveys and survey analysis + Supporting long-term department strategic planning + Providing administrative support to CED **REQUIRED SKILLS:** + Advanced undergraduate or graduate student in urban planning, urban studies, public policy, public administration, economics, geography, business, sociology, or a related field + Interest and coursework in community and/or economic development topics + Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Office 365, and statistical software (RStudio or Python) required; familiarity with libraries for data visualization (e.g. ggplot2, Plotly) and GIS software knowledge strongly preferred + Possesses excellent analytical, writing, and verbal communication skills + Works well independently and with others in a team environment + Thorough and detail‐oriented + Demonstrates effective listening and questioning skills, and takes the initiative to suggest approaches to complete projects **QUALIFICATIONS:** + Students must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university in a Bachelor or Graduate degree program through the duration of the internship. + Minimum cumulative GPA above 3.0 in academically rigorous curriculum. + Must be committed to working a 40-hour work week for 10-12 weeks during the summer months. + All Majors are encouraged to apply **CORE COMPETENCIES:** + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite + Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) + Strong analytical skills + Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects + Great work ethic and detail oriented + Comfortable working across time zones to complete projects in a timely manner **OUR BENEFITS TO INTERNS (some benefits are subject to being onsite)** : + Professional development opportunities + Networking + MARTA passes provided + Free LinkedIn Learning access + Free access to our FedFuel career development tool + Café and dining options on-site + Dress for your day + Flexible hours + Access to on-site fitness center **TO APPLY:** Please send a cover letter, resume, and brief writing sample.
