Applied Materials’ Austin Engineering Department is searching for an intern to join our team in summer 2025! Research and rapid development group designing, procuring, testing, and iterating prototype parts as part of a team including physicists, EEs, and software experts. The position will entail the following:
CAD modeling in Creo or Solidworks
Mechanical design and FEA of components
Working with suppliers on rapid prototyping and best manufacturing methods
Designing experiments to test prototype assembly and iterate/improve design as needed
Requirements
Student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering
Student must be in good academic standing at their university, with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
Experience in semiconductor processing or manufacturing preferred

Compensation
$29 - 37 per hour
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on a number of factors including location and education level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience
