Job Description: This role will develop technology solutions to enable process efficiency improvements and/or compliance in support to the External Business Management group, and especially the Operational excellence, included but not limited to: + Understanding data needs to support efficient management of MSAs + Leverage AI to enable faster contracts review: eg develop prompts, test response accuracy and develop prompt iterations to obtain desired results + Develop automations where relevant to avoid duplicate data entry + Partner with the EBM training lead to develop prompt library, support training of the EBM members and develop mechanism to measure efficiency benefits and adoption The intern will learn about contractual and regulatory requirements, as well transacting activities, related systems and and financial / business impacts. The intern will work in close collaboration with the entire EBM team to understand requirements, develop, test and implement solutions. How you will contribute + Liaise with EBM team and partner functions to understand the contracting process and understand opportunities for automation AI support + Develop a business requirement document, and technical recommendations and obtain validation + Develop a project plan matching the internship period and potential recommendation for further improvement opportunities + Develop solutions; test accuracy; develop and oversee User Acceptance Testing + Partner with EBM training lead to develop adoption with EBM and partner functions teams where relevant + Partner with other R&D contracting support teams for best-practices, knowledge and solutions sharing + Provide qualitative and quantitative input data to External Business Management function regarding solution efficiency and adoption **Internship Development Opportunities:** Through this assignment, the EBM Operational Excellence intern will gain first hand insight on Takeda R&D organization and outsourced services to support drug development. The intern will learn about contractual and regulatory requirements, as well transacting activities, related systems and financial / business impacts. The intern will work in close collaboration with the entire EBM team to understand requirements, develop, test and implement solutions The intern will gain experience building relationship and collaborating effectively with other Takeda partner functions **Job Requirements:** + This position will be Hybrid and require 2-3 days in the Cambridge office per week. + Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in science, business administration, Contract Law, or technology + Proven track record of independently accomplishing tasks from initiation through close out, including proactive follow-up with stakeholders to ensure completion, with deep attention to details + Understanding of Healthcare Compliance, including U.S. Federal Sunshine Act, and general contracting processes and systems + Ability to effectively manage projects and contracts in a global matrix/team environment + Exceptional organization and communication skills + Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment + Basic understanding of computer skills including MS Office (PowerPoint, Words, Excel) + Internet skills including use of e-mails, group messaging and information gathering + Highly reliable and a strong team player + Flexible with an attention to detail + Strong verbal and written communication skills **Internship Eligibility** + Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship + Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2025 or later + The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (June 2nd- August 29th) or (June 16th - August 22nd) + The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames + Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates + Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program **Program Highlights:** + Hands-on experience with real projects and responsibilities + Dedicated mentorship program pairing interns with experienced professionals + Networking opportunities with industry professionals and fellow interns + Internship events focused on professional and skills development + Exposure to multiple business areas or departments within a Pharmaceutical Organization Applications will be accepted between December 18th and January 10th **Takeda Compensation and Benefits** **Summary** We understand compensation may be an important factor as you consider an internship opportunity. We are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. **For Location:** Boston, MA **U.S. Hourly Wage Range:** $21.00 - $46.00 The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship. The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
