Job Description

The Structure Characterization Group, part of the Analytical Development Department, is dedicated to elucidating the molecular structures of pharmaceutical compounds. Our team utilizes advanced analytical techniques, including NMR and MS, to determine the detailed structural information of compounds in drug products, drug substances, intermediates, impurities, etc. By providing comprehensive structural insights, we support the development, optimization, and quality control of Takeda’s innovative therapies across difference stages, ensuring they meet rigorous standards of safety and efficacy.

Job Description:

As an intern, you will support in silico (computational) predictions of drug degradation pathways and perform experiments to characterize potential impurities. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in predictive computational models and analytical lab techniques, essential for ensuring the stability and safety of pharmaceutical products. You will work closely with experienced scientists and contribute to data analysis, reporting, and the interpretation of results.

How You Will Contribute:

Computational Prediction: Utilize in silico tools to predict drug degradation pathways and potential impurities. Work with advanced prediction software and computational models to support drug stability assessments.Laboratory Characterization: Conduct wet lab experiments to identify, isolate, and characterize drug impurities. Operate laboratory instruments such as HPLC, LC-MS, and other relevant analytical tools.Data Analysis: Analyze results from both computational predictions and laboratory tests to assess impurity profiles and validate predictions.Documentation: Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and records of computational and experimental results. Assist in preparing reports and summaries for an internal database.Collaboration: Work in close coordination with the analytical development team.

Internship Development Opportunities:
