How You Will Contribute

Assist in the development of bioinformatics tools and software.Develop and implement algorithms for data analysis and visualization.Support the team in managing and processing biological data from various sources.Participate in team meetings and present findings and progress updates.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate bioinformatics approaches in research projects.Conduct literature reviews to support ongoing research initiatives.

Internship Development Opportunities:

In this role, the candidate will gain practical experience with bioinformatics software implementation and development, as well as the cutting-edge application of GenAI in drug development field. Meanwhile, the candidate will get a chance to develop understanding of the drug development process, connect with experienced scientists in the bioinformatics and biomedical research fields, and expand professional network through seminars, meetings, and conferences.


Job Requirements:

This is a hybrid position located in Cambridge, MACurrently pursuing a Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related field.Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and software (e.g., BLAST, Bioconductor, etc.).Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Perl.Understanding of molecular biology, immunology, and data analysis techniques.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Previous experience with antibody property analysis or cell therapy product design.Knowledge of statistical methods and data visualization techniques.Experience with version control systems (e.g., Github).

Internship Eligibility

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorshipMust be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2025 or laterThe internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (June 2nd- August 29th) or (June 16th - August 22ndThe intern must be able to commit to one of these time framesAble to work full time 40 hours a week during internship datesTakeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

We understand compensation may be an important factor as you consider an internship opportunity. We are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices.

U.S. Hourly Wage Range:

$21.00 - $46.00

The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship.  The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. 

 

U.S. internship benefits vary by location and may include: 

 Paid sick time

Commuter Benefit: To offset your work-commute expenses, Takeda provides U.S. employees with a fixed monthly subsidy to be used for either public transportation (transit) or parking.
