Job Description

The Critical Reagent (CR) team supplies CR and supports CR QC and CR stabilities tests for VBU manufactory and R&D.
 

How You Will Contribute:
 

As a summer intern, you will work within a dynamic group to explore Takeda’s dengue vaccine program and learn fundamentals of virology and immunology. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in antigen and antibody characterizations, cell culture and dengue virus infection and production.
 

Key Responsibilities

Wet lab work: Mammalian cell culture; Dengue virus propagation in cells; Dengue virus detection and anti-sera characterizations by In-Cell Western, ELISA, MSD, DLS, DSF

Documentation: Maintain detailed laboratory work in ELN; summarize data in Excel, Word and PowerPoint presentations

Collaboration: Attend weekly CR Team meetings and present a short project update; work in close collaboration with the CR group members

Internship Development Opportunities

Explore vaccine research projects, learn immunology towards dengue virus. Obtain technical skills in protein characterization and antibody development.

 Explore industrial research environment and company culture, strengthen communication and presentation skills.
 

Job Requirements:

This is a fully onsite position located in Cambridge, MA

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master Program

Fundamental knowledge of immunology, protein biochemistry, biophysics and virology.

Hands on experience in mammalian cell culture, ELISA, Western blot or other immunoassays

 Experience in protein and nuclear acid sequence analysis

Internship Eligibility

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship

Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2025 or later

The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (June 2nd- August 29th) or (June 16th - August 22nd

The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames

Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates

Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

U.S. Hourly Wage Range:

$21.00 - $46.00

The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship.  The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. 

 

U.S. internship benefits vary by location and may include:
