Job DescriptionThe EHS team supports a variety of site operations functions including Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Site Engineering, and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Support is provided in various types of operational spaces from routine activities and non-routine high risk project operations. The team ensures that the site maintains compliance with applicable EHS-related requirements and ensures that the site provides a safe, healthy, and sustainable working environment.
Job Description:
The intern will support various EHS programs that ensures the site is operating in a safe and compliant manner. The intern will additionally:
Partner with EHS team and selected areas of the business to perform risk assessments and or inspectionsMaintain documentation for risk assessments and inspections, provide recommendations on improvements and help drive those improvements to closureSupport the development of EHS programs and associated training by participating in program implementation assessments, soliciting feedback on improvement opportunities, and incorporating those improvements into the programs and associated training where warranted.Participate in daily meetings both internal to EHS and with non-EHS business partnersAct as a liaison between EHS and business partners for assignments provided by managerSupport environmental sustainability programs including reduction of water usage during the manufacturing process, waste and energy reduction as well as reporting both at a site and global level.Internship Development Opportunities
The intern will Learn how to participate and contribute in a mature, well established EHS organization while:
Understanding the EHS related risks, hazards, and operating requirements at a global biotech company.Developing greater competencies related to environmental compliance and sustainability as well as health and safety regulations and professional resources including but not limited to OSHA, EPA, Massachusetts DEP, NFPA, ANSI, ISO, etc.Exploring the wide umbrella of EHS topics and opportunities to develop a greater awareness and appreciated for the function.Job Requirements:
This position will be Hybrid and require 2-3 days in the Lexington office per week.Basic understanding of computer skills including MS Office (PowerPoint, Words, Excel)Internet skills including use of e-mails, group messaging and information gatheringHighly reliable and a strong team playerFlexible with an attention to detailStrong verbal and written communication skillsMust be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an EHS applicable fieldInternship Eligibility
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorshipMust be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2025 or laterThe internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (June 2nd- August 29th) or (June 16th - August 22nd)The intern must be able to commit to one of these time framesAble to work full time 40 hours a week during internship datesTakeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship ProgramProgram Highlights:

The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship. The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
