Job Description:
The aim of the Takeda-Boston Absorption,Distribution, Metabolism and Excretion (ADME) group is provide the intern a well-rounded in-vitro ADME and MPS/Organ-on-chip introduction by the ADME team sub-divisions.
How You Will Contribute:
The intern can expect to learn the following skill sets during their rotation in the Biodistribution and Mechanistic ADME groups:
• Assist in the culture and maintenance of cells within MPS platforms.
• Collaborate with team members to integrate various biomolecular techniques.
• Analyze data to track the biodistribution and pharmacokinetics of therapeutic agents and other substances.
• Assess the hepatic stability profile of low, medium, and high stability compounds which require long term culture conditions.
• Assess metabolism, transcellular permeability, transport and biliary efflux in a hepatic model.
• Assess metabolism, transcellular permeability and transport in an intestinal model.
• Employ RT-qPCR to quantify gene expression levels within cultured cells.
• Utilize confocal microscopy for visualizing spatial distribution of fluorescently labeled antibodies and probes.
• Conduct ELISAs to measure the concentration of specific proteins or other molecules in the MPS.
• Contribute to the preparation of reports and presentations summarizing research findings.
Internship Development Opportunities:
The intern will gain experience and knowledge in MPS system while helping to assess the ease of use and usefulness of MPS system with specific focus areas such as transport/permeability, short and long term enzymology, biodistribution, and molecular biology.
Job Requirements:
This position will be Fully Onsite and require 4+days in the Cambridge office per week.Must be a Graduate Student pursuing a Masters or Ph.D. with cell culture and molecular biology experience intersted in drug metabolism and pharmacokineticsBasic understanding of computer skills including MS Office (PowerPoint, Words, Excel)Internet skills including use of e-mails, group messaging and information gatheringHighly reliable and a strong team playerFlexible with an attention to detailStrong verbal and written communication skillsInternship Eligibility

The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship. The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
