2025 U.S Summer Internship Program: Investigative Toxicology Intern

I further attest that all information I submit in my employment application is true to the best of my knowledge. **Job Description** The investigative toxicology team wit in the DSRE (drug safety and research evaluation) group is responsible for assessing the safety of drug products used across modalities. We support programs from the screening stage up to the IND stage to help select safe binders for progressing and devise strategies to recognize and monitor safety hazards. **Job Description:** Cellular therapies have the potential to target non-malignant healthy tissues through innate and engineered cytotoxicity receptor interactions. We aim to identify, understand, and de-risk key drivers of these off-tumor interactions using cellular and molecular biology tools (i.e. cell culture models, expression analyses, cell-based assays). **How You Will Contribute:** The intern will: + Develop a primary cell map and inventory to support our off-tumor cytotoxicity assessment and guide us towards developing safer therapeutic approaches. + Day to day activities will involve: + Culturing and maintaining primary and immortalized cells + Performing RNA lysis to generate bulk RNA sequencing samples + Running cell-based cytotoxicity and flow cytometry assays **Internship Development Opportunities:** The team will provide training on a variety of techniques and basic analytical methods such that the intern generates and analyzes data to inform platform understanding of cell therapy products. **Job Requirements:** + This position will be Fully Onsite and require 4+ days in the Cambridge office per week. + Must be pursuing a Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacology, Biotechnology or any related health care disciplines. + Cell culture (immortalized tumor cell lines) and basic molecular biology techniques (DNA/RNA extraction, western blot, PCR, ELISA) required + Experience with primary cell culture including immune cells, cell-based assays, and flow cytometry is desired + Basic understanding of computer skills including MS Office (PowerPoint, Words, Excel) + Internet skills including use of e-mails, group messaging and information gathering + Highly reliable and a strong team player + Flexible with an attention to detail + Strong verbal and written communication skills **Internship Eligibility** + Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship + Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2025 or later + The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (June 2nd- August 29th) or (June 16th - August 22nd) + The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames + Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates + Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program **Program Highlights:** + Hands-on experience with real projects and responsibilities + Dedicated mentorship program pairing interns with experienced professionals + Networking opportunities with industry professionals and fellow interns + Internship events focused on professional and skills development + Exposure to multiple business areas or departments within a Pharmaceutical Organization Applications will be accepted between December 18th and January 10th **Takeda Compensation and Benefits** **Summary** We understand compensation may be an important factor as you consider an internship opportunity. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship. The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
