Job DescriptionProximity-induced targeted protein degradation is a therapeutic modality that offers the potential to modulate previously undruggable targets, expanding therapeutic possibilities for a range of diseases. With this therapeutic approach, heterobifunctional molecules tag proteins for degradation by the cell’s degradation machinery, resulting in functional inhibition of the target protein or pathway. This work aims to utilize high-throughput screen (HTS) to assess diverse compound libraries and search for small molecules degraders that can serve as starting point for therapeutics.
How You Will Contribute:
The intern will work closely with the IVP team to gain practical experience in cellular assays including viability and compound efficacy screens, compound management, and data analysis, contributing to high-throughput screening and selectivity profiling for molecular degraders.Internship Development Opportunities:
The internship provides insights into the inner workings of early stage drug discovery. The intern will employ automated HTS technologies including robotics and liquid handling platforms to screen chemical libraries against targets of interest, and gain deeper understanding about the role of HTS in small molecule discovery. The intern will also learn to utilize cloud-based systems approaches for analysis, reporting, and storage of data. Finally, this opportunity implores the ability to critically think through experimental questions, allowing growth in a collaborative environment while contributing to groundbreaking research.Job Requirements:
