Job DescriptionThe DMPK&M Neuroscience modeling group develops mathematical models (such as PKPD and QSP) of disease progression and drug response to inform preclinical drug optimization, guide study design, and provide human dose predictions. We take in vitro data, animal data, and when available, natural history and clinical data to translate preclinical findings into predicted clinical responses. We work closely with bench scientists and clinical scientists to provide high quality support in early drug research and development.
Job Description:
This summer internship project involves developing mechanistic models to link pathological nucleotide expansion repeat dynamics to neurodegeneration and related biomarkers, building on existing models and data.
As an intern, you will:
Calibrate and evaluate the ability of these models to describe disease progressionSimulate interventions to investigate potential therapeutic benefit and biomarker responsesPresent your findings to teams within Takeda including modelers and neuroscience colleagues.A successful intern will provide our neuroscience teams quantitative comparisons of how our intervention(s) may work depending on patient characteristics and timing of intervention, leading to higher quality human dose prediction strategy within DMPK&M.
