Job DescriptionNuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR) and Mas Spectroscopy (MS) are critical analytical techniques in pharmaceutical research. NMR Spectroscopy provides detailed information about the molecular structure, dynamics, reaction state, and chemical environment of molecules. It is essential for confirming the structure of drug compounds, studying molecular interactions, and understanding the behavior of drugs in biological systems. Mass Spectrometry allows for precise mass measurement and identification of compounds, including the detection of impurities and degradation products. MS is indispensable for rapid determination of the structure of drug substances, metabolites and impurities, as well as low-level quantitative analysis of drug compounds, metabolites and potential genotoxic impurities. Together, they work synergistically, with NMR confirming the structure predicted from the accurate mass MS provides. These techniques are, however, extremely data rich, and information is often lost when raw data is reduced to peak lists and tables. Therefore, building a database is essential for optimal project management andfurthers the goal of organizational excellence in FAIR (finable, accessible, interoperable and reusable) data principles and DD&T initiatives, this summer intern project will ensure critical structural knowledge from NMR and MS are carefully logged and searchable, safeguard reproducibility, and streamline Regulatory and Legal inquiries.
