Job DescriptionThe Data & Digital Quality (DDQ) team, within R&D Quality, helps R&D Quality sub-function teams identify and implement data and digital solutions. Within the DDQ team, the Data and Analytics team supports the delivery of digital solutions that assist stakeholders in leveraging data to efficiently carry out their mission-critical tasks: monitoring and mitigating risks/issues that impact R&D. Our team maintains traditional analytical reports that serve as a self-service data analysis mechanism, and we also actively partner with internal Data, Digital & Technology (DDT) teams to drive innovative ML/AI initiatives. These initiatives continually enhance capabilities and improve overall operational efficiencies, adding value to our stakeholder functions.
Job Description:
Support efforts to maintain/automate our team's day-to-day tasks by leveraging various digital tools and programming languages to perform Data & Digital Quality activities. Activities could include:
Automating business process flowsBuilding out various analytical reports/datasetsCompiling presentation slides to communicate progress to the internal team as well as stakeholders.Internship Development Opportunities:
Real-world experience in working with R&D Quality business stakeholders.Exposure to the process of end-to-end digital solution development/delivery that supports business objectives and provides true, quantifiable value (quality/time/cost improvements)Exposure to widely-adopted, industry standard software/tools/cloud services like: AWS, Azure, Databricks, Datarobot, Dataiku, MS Power Platform (Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate), etc.Job Requirements:
Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, Machine Learning, or related field with 1-2 years remaining before thesis defenseStrong foundation in building deep neural networksDemonstrated experience or coursework using CNNs, autoencoders, transformer models, machine learning, and/or image analysis.Highly reliable and a strong team playerFlexible with an attention to detailStrong verbal and written communication skillsInternship Eligibility

The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship. The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
