US Commercial Law provides legal support to all US entity commercial business and support functions. The group develops and implements legal strategies and solutions to identify and mitigate risk; drafts and negotiates contracts; and tracks and assesses impacts of laws, regulations and legal trends.

Job Description:

Takeda is seeking a Legal Intern for a hybrid position within the Regional General Counsel U.S. Legal Team based in Cambridge/Lexington, MA. The intern will be part of the team providing legal support to various Business Units, including brand (marketing review) and contracting. Responsibilities include:

reviewing commercial and strategy resourcesproviding counsel on relationships with external partiesResearching new lawsDrafting agreementsWorking on various legal projectsInterns will gain exposure to multiple therapeutic areas and legal disciplines.

Internship Development Opportunities:

Work with multiple therapeutic areas within TakedaEngage in various legal disciplines, including contracting and commercial activitiesParticipate in meetings and discussions with business owners and legal professionalsGain hands-on experience in drafting and negotiating legal documentsDevelop a deeper understanding of the legal aspects of drug commercialization

Job Requirements:

Must be able to commit to a Hybrid work schedule (2-3 days in the office per week) in our Lexington, MA officeEnrolled as a 2L or 3L (meaning a law student in their 2nd or 3rd year of law school)Strong interest in healthcare law and the pharmaceutical industryExcellent research, writing, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyCollaborative team player

Internship Eligibility

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorshipMust be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2025 or laterThe internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (June 2nd- August 29th) or (June 16th - August 22nd)The intern must be able to commit to one of these time framesAble to work full time 40 hours a week during internship datesTakeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

U.S. Hourly Wage Range:

$21.00 - $46.00

The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship.  The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. 

 

U.S. internship benefits vary by location and may include:
