Job Description

US Medical is a Medical Affairs function that sits within the US Business Commercial Unit, serving as a bridge between the US Business and R&D to enable delivery of transformative patient outcomes. Within US Medical, Strategic Business Planning and Operations delivers strategy-driven operational excellence with a focus on new product planning, business infrastructure, and operational excellence. New Product Planning focuses on strategic medical input into early pipeline programs to ensure downstream best-in-class launches. Medical Operations includes both Business Operations and Program Management. Lastly, our Communciations, Engagement and Training function focuses on internal communications, employee engagement initiatives and training.

Job Description:

In this hybrid role, the US Medical Strategic Business Planning and Operations intern will be responsible for:

The design and development of various portfolio and performance analyticsConverting raw data sets into digestible visualizations to assess operational performance vs. plan and inform future decision-making.

This will be achieved by:

Gathering data and information from stakeholders, which will inform the development of needs, role-based customizable visualizations, and lead to thoughtful planning and design, which will be updated efficiently over time by the Medical Operations teams.

The intern will also contribute t:

Various Strategic Business Planning and Operations projects that will provide exposure to New Product Planning R&D pipeline activities, Communications, Employee Engagement, and Training-related projects/tactics.

The role will also contribute to an annual review of role-based learning plans for all US Medical roles, working across our GXP Learning Management System, Ethics and Compliance, and business stakeholders.

Internship Development Opportunities:

The intern will develop an understanding of business planning, program management and business operations, particularly as these functions pertain to medical affairs and the pharmaceutical industry. They will also develop an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the project management office staff and key business partners that they interact with. They will develop an understanding of tools for tracking and communicating operational performance.

Job Requirements:

This position will be Hybrid and require 2-3 days in the Lexington office per week.Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree demonstrating strong quantitative, analytical, problem solving, and conceptual skills.Basic understanding of computer skills including MS Office (PowerPoint, Words, Excel)Internet skills including use of e-mails, group messaging and information gatheringHighly reliable and a strong team playerFlexible with an attention to detailStrong verbal and written communication skills

Internship Eligibility

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorshipMust be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2025 or laterThe internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (June 2nd- August 29th) or (June 16th - August 22nd)The intern must be able to commit to one of these time framesAble to work full time 40 hours a week during internship datesTakeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

U.S. Hourly Wage Range:

$21.00 - $46.00

The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship.  The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. 

 

U.S. internship benefits vary by location and may include:
