The Underwriting Summer Internship Program at United Wholesale Mortgage provides a valuable opportunity for students interested in the financial and mortgage industry to gain practical experience in mortgage underwriting. Interns will work closely with UWM's underwriting team, learning the intricacies of assessing loan applications and gaining valuable insight into the decision-making process.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Audit loan files for specific criteria by conducting SWAT reviews, including risk analysis.Create reports and present findings to Senior Leadership.Analyze data to help the business as a whole. Create and enhance training materials.Assist our Underwriting Training team with classroom enrollments and other various data projects. Analyze hiring trends and their impact on the team. Work in Microsoft Office products and PowerBICreate reporting dashboards to be used by Senior Leadership.Facilitate fun and friendship activities for the team. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU Graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 2025 or 2026 (current junior/senior status)The ability to work Monday thru Friday, 40-hours a week, fully on-site in Pontiac, MI from the end of May to mid-AugustAn openness to learning, willingness to be coached, and ability to be flexible in our every-changing industryAbility to thrive in a team environmentA strong work ethicA drive to succeed
