OVERVIEW:

The ideal candidate is a tester passionate about helping to drive our customers’ and company missions forward. The candidate must be self-motivated, a quick learner, and able to balance simultaneous tasks to keep pace with our team of high performers.

GENERAL DUTIES:

Learn how to utilize our software from an end-user perspectiveWrite and run automated front-end and back-end API regression testsWrite and perform manual regression testing proceduresDocument test performance, bugs, and design inefficiencies in the softwareAssist developers in creating realistic testing scenarios.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience5+ years related work experience in software test engineeringTest engineering experience in a government contracting environmentExperience with aspects of software development: infrastructure, design, development, test/QA, deployment, monitoring, and maintenanceOrganized and capable of documenting existing test capabilities, test performance, and test needsTeam player – support, back-up and collaborate with other testers, developers, and associated operations integration teamStrong communication – clear, concise, collaborative, well-spoken/written, capable of remaining calm while discussing difficult issues with customers and employeesSelf-motivated to explore new and better ways of improving our test performance and coverageSecurity+ Certification; or obtained within the first six (6) months of employmentExperience writing and running automated back-end tests

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with Agile methodologies and working on an Agile development programExperience with test automation frameworksComfortable in Linux and WindowsExperience with command/line scripting, such as BashAny experience in these areas: AWS (Amazon Web Services), Docker/Kubernetes, Document-Oriented Data Stores (i.e. Elasticsearch, Solr), Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) and OGC WMS/WFS, Javascript, HTML5, CSS, and RESTful APIs, GitPostman API testingBehave or other functional black box API testing tools
