2D Mechanical Drafter
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented 2D Mechanical Drafter to join our team. This entry-level position is primarily responsible for creating, modifying, and editing AutoCAD/Inventor models and drawings/layouts to meet the needs of the Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing Departments. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in CAD software and a keen eye for detail. Pay Rate: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour Top 3 Must-Have Skills: + Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor Software + Essential for creating, modifying, and editing 2D models and technical drawings. + Ensures accuracy and efficiency in drafting tasks. + Strong Attention to Detail + Critical for producing high-quality, precise work. + Helps in identifying and correcting errors in drawings and models. + Excellent Communication and Teamwork Skills + Necessary for effective collaboration with Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams. + Facilitates clear and concise communication to ensure project requirements are met. Key Responsibilities: + Create, modify, and edit 2D AutoCAD/Inventor models and technical drawings/layouts to meet project specifications. + Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of projects. + Develop CAD models and drawings that include mechanical and electrical components, welded assemblies, and some electrical schematics. + Assist in drafting panels, distribution boards, and large electrical equipment as required by project needs. + Perform additional duties as necessary to support the requirements of ongoing projects. Qualifications: + Associate's degree in Mechanical Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field. + 0-2 years of experience in mechanical drafting or a related role. + Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor software. + Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work. + Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. + Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting. Preferred Qualifications: + Experience with electrical schematics. + Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in mechanical and electrical drafting. + Experience with drafting panels, distribution boards, and large electrical equipment is a plus. Work Environment: + All work is done on-site in Astoria, Queens, NY. + The office has about 30 people, with 10 people on the team directly. + This person will be 1 of 3 drafters working in 2D and AutoCAD, alongside 4 other people who do layouts and 3D work. + You will have your own desk and work closely with the team. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: + Receive contract drawings from the sales team, write up orders, and build panels, distribution boards, and large electrical equipment. + Create drawings based on sales orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness. + Double-check drawings and send them to the sales team for review. + Collaborate with engineers to finalize and send out drawings.
