**Job Title: Janitor**
**Job Description**
The individual will be responsible for cleaning hospital rooms, primarily focusing on sanitizing rooms between patient discharges. The job involves extensive walking, so candidates must be comfortable being on their feet all day. Responsibilities include wiping down equipment, emptying trash, sweeping floors, dusting, cleaning up spills, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces. Attention to detail is crucial as there are multiple floors. Employees will use iPhones issued by the hospital to receive assignments and access cleaning tutorials if needed. Familiarity with smartphone technology is required. The hospital is large, and employees must learn the floor plan within a reasonable time.
**Responsibilities**
+ Clean hospital rooms, focusing on discharges and sanitizing between patients.
+ Wipe down equipment, empty trash, sweep floors, and dust surfaces.
+ Clean up spills, mop floors, and sanitize surfaces as needed.
+ Navigate multiple floors of the hospital with attention to detail.
+ Use hospital-issued iPhones to receive assignments and access cleaning tutorials.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience in housekeeping, cleaning, janitorial duties.
+ Ability to sweep, mop, and sanitize hospital facilities.
+ Comfortable with extensive walking and being on feet all day.
+ Familiarity with smartphone technology for receiving assignments and tutorials.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Preferred experience in janitorial work for healthcare settings.
+ GED or diploma preferred.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
+ Willingness to work every other weekend and major holidays.
+ 3-strike attendance policy.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is very fast-paced in a #1 trauma center, which can be jarring for some individuals. Patience is required, as it may take a few weeks before receiving a badge. The position involves a lot of walking and standing throughout the hospital.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00
