Volt is immediately hiring CNC Mill Set Up Machinist in Poway, CA.

\r\n\r\n

As a CNC Mill Set Up Machinist you will:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tThis position is responsible for preparing all activities to set up a variety of milling machines (3-5 axis) to produce precision parts and tools from metal or plastic to customer expectations for quality and on-time delivery. \r\n\tSet up, program, and operate all 3, 5 axis and vertical CNC machining equipment utilizing a wide range of controls.\r\n\tPerform job set-up using traditional clamping methods, vices and custom work holding fixtures.\r\n\tReads and interprets blueprints to maintain dimensions within tolerances of precision machined parts.\r\n\tMonitor machining processes and adjust set up as needed.\r\n\tComplete documentation as required by assigned tasks.\r\n\tAccurately utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, height gauges, pin gauges, and gauge block.\r\n\tWorks with lead and operators to ensure high quality of parts by closely monitoring and adjusting operation of machine and/or tooling while regularly inspecting parts for conformance to requirements.\r\n\tDetect and correct minor malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.\r\n\tTroubleshoot and resolve all of machine operation issues with assistance from Programming, Engineering and Maintenance.\r\n\tQuickly raises any machining or quality issues with appropriate supervision or engineering support.\r\n\tDaily communication with Supervisors, leads, and other employees.\r\n\tWork with Engineering to develop work instructions for developmental jobs.\r\n\tWork with Tool Crib Attendant, Engineering and Maintenance to maintain machine specific tools and consumables to ensure effective operation of equipment.\r\n\tManage time to meet routed cycle and set-up times on all work orders.\r\n\tCollaborate with lead and operators to perform equipment preventive maintenance and clean work area to promote efficient workflow and safe working environment.\r\n\tAble to perform all setups (basic and advanced) and able to provide training to other operators.\r\n\tMaintain workstation and setup carts to 5S standards.\r\n\tMaintain a high standard of quality work within organization’s environmental, health, and safety standards. \r\n\r\n\r\n

This is a Full-Time opportunity.

\r\n\r\n

The ideal candidate will have:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tMinimum of 10 years of experience in setting up and operating CNC machines using solid models and drawings to produce tight tolerance parts from metal or plastic.\r\n\tHigh school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.\r\n\tComputer skills required and familiarity with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) software and machinery used for computer-aided manufacturing.\r\n\tKnowledge of how to operate grinders, lathes and milling machines.\r\n\tAbility to read all views blueprint and Datum call outs, process documentation and inspection measuring devices. Math skills to take precise measurements and make calculations.\r\n\tAnalytical and problem-solving skills to identify/correct/troubleshoot production i\r\n\tAble to write a simple program (Vise Jaws, tap holes, pin stopped hole).\r\n\tConsistently achieve defined productivity level on all products processed.\r\n\tAble to do a vacuum, 4th axis Trunnion and 5th axis machine setup.\r\n\tAble to program and build own fixture to setup complex parts and maintain tight true position.\r\n\r\n\r\n

Schedule:

Monday to Friday 2nd Shift - 3pm to 11:30pm

\r\n\t\r\n\r\n\r\n

Pay Rate: $30-$35 hour

\r\n\r\n

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
