Job Summary:
Must meet all requirements of mechanic. Performs preventative maintenance, normal maintenance, and emergency and normal repairs on plant equipment and utilities and facilities as required or needed. Fabricate and install various pieces of equipment and rebuild equipment as necessary. Perform pipe fitting, plumbing, electrical, electronic, installations and repairs with other mechanics. Performs all tasks in a safe and efficient manner. Ensure quality product is produced and continuous improvement. This position also has accountability for Q-RMP standards as outlined in the Claussen Woodstock Accountability document.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Must have a full knowledge of hand and machine tools and know how to properly use the tools. Must know how to use electrical test equipment supplied by the Company and must be familiar with high voltage electrical panels and equipment. Must be able to work independently on assignments/jobs with a minimum amount of supervision. Must be able to trouble shoot and foresee problems with all production equipment. Must be aggressive and able to learn and cope with new/existing equipment and the problems related to the equipment. Capable of welding with arc, tig and mig type welding equipment. Capable of using an oxy acetylene torch and a plasma cutting system. Capable of working with 304 and 316 stainless steels in such a manner as to minimize material waste and not damage/destroy shop tools and machine. Must have a working knowledge of lathes and milling machines operations (set up, etc.) and be able to read calipers and micrometers to determine thickness, depth, etc. Must be able to change, repair and wire electrical motors which operate on 460/230 volts, 3 phase power. Must be capable of repairing and installing steel and PVC piping and accessories. Able to recognize and research parts and know ordering procedures. Able to read and understand machine blueprints, manuals, electrical schematics, and device manuals. Capability to follow written procedures for line set ups and test run after work is completes. Teach, communicate, follow instructions and be open to training as required. Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently. Must be punctual and safety conscious. Capable of communicating with other mechanics on adjustments and functions of their designated lines. Must be able to work overtime when called upon to do so. Perform any additional duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.Expected Experience & Required Skills:
Must be able to identify problems with machines and report to management. Able to research drawings and manuals for repair parts. Must be knowledgeable of causes of equipment and product loss. Total awareness of unsafe equipment and conditions. Know all lock out/tag out procedures. Must be aware of jogging and timing procedures when lock out/tag out is not feasible. Most work done at normal room temperature. Medium amount of work is wet and dirty conditions. Same as B Mechanic.Work Environment & Schedule:
This position is considered a Manufacturing plant environment with heavy machinery and equipment. Overtime and weekend work required as dictated by business needs. You may be required to switch schedule or shifts as the need arises. Must wear following PPE (Personal Protective Equipment): bump cap/hard hat, safety glasses, slip resistant shoes, ear plugs.

Physical demands include but not limited to:
Frequent standing and walking required. Physical requirements include strength to install motors – pumps and correct use of tools. 60% of work will be production related in overseeing and repair. 30% assist other mechanics on various repairs. 5% trouble shooting or problem solving. 5% miscellaneous welding, machining, and drilling. Intermittent heavy exertion (lifting, hauling, pushing, carrying, pulling, walking, climbing, etc.) High degree of concentration on production machinery and line flow. 30% simple problem solving. 100% on safety. Continual application of reasoning, logic, and common sense. Attention span and temperament must allow individual to work on problems until solved. 75% high degree of visual inspection required to aid in trouble shooting and preventive maintenance on all production equipment. Color vision required. Ability to read from 1/32” to 8” high. Close up visual acuity necessary.Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.Benefits:
