2nd Shift Machine Operator
**Job Title: Machine Operator** **Job Description** The Flexographic Press Operator’s primary function is to set up and operate flexo presses to produce items consistent with customer specifications. The role involves using appropriate dies, inks, and other materials as specified by the order, and loading rolls of stock on the press. **Responsibilities** + Set up and operate flexo presses. + Use appropriate dies, inks, and other materials as specified by the order. + Load rolls of stock on the press. + Operate press and make adjustments as needed to ensure print consistency, quality, and registration. + Verify proper color shades, die cuts, etc. + Ensure items are varnished, glued, and/or folded as needed. + Mount printing plates properly on cylinders. + Adjust and mix inks per job requirements. + Obtain approval of the product before the press run. + Run job at pre-determined run speed. **Essential Skills** + Mechanically inclined. + Initiative. + Verbal and written communication skills. + Problem-solving skills. + Attention to detail. + Ability to maintain production standards. + Ability to count and measure. + Ability to work independently and as a self-starter. + Ability to work as part of a team. + Ability to follow written, oral, or verbal directions from others. + Ability to respond to questions from managers, team members, and customers. + Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Knowledge of printing production is a plus. + Experience with gluing systems and glue detection systems is a plus. + Experience with setting up sensors, scanners, and vision systems is a plus. + Packaging experience in the pharmaceutical or food packaging industry is a plus. + Ability to use a computer to navigate through and understand specifications. **Why Work Here?** Join a company with a family-like culture and a climate-controlled environment. The work environment is climate-controlled and humidified per government regulations. The employee will be regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and print chemicals involved in a printing environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, and the noise level in the work environment is moderately loud. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Charles, Missouri. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
