2nd Shift Maintenance Trainee

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Primarily responsible for the maintenance and repair of various mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and conveying systems/types of industrial equipment for poultry processing plant. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance using blueprints and diagrams to verify that all equipment is operating within required specifications and tolerances. May perform periodic testing and inspections, troubleshooting and repairs. Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under minimal supervision, maintain and repair mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, conveyor, pump, steam and electrical systems using blueprints and schematic drawings to ensure equipment is performing safely to required specificationsIdentify root cause of more complex/difficult mechanical and electrical issues and repairs using welding, fabrication, basic pipefitting and electrical/process control knowledge; notify appropriate personnel if further attention is requiredPerform preventative maintenance on equipment as scheduledSearch for and present ideas for permanent fix for reoccurring mechanical or electrical problemsIdentify and correct unsafe conditions; notify appropriate personnel and request assistance if unable to correct on ownAssist with maintaining a file of blueprints and operating manuals and procedures as neededWork in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulationsTrain entry level employees as neededAll other duties as assignedEDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalentNOCTI Mechanical/Electrical test, Level I certifiedPass NOCTI Mechanical/Electrical test, Level 2 requiredEXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Minimum 1 year experience in industrial machinery maintenance and repair, mechanical and electrical knowledgeAbility to read and understand blueprints, drawing and schematics requiredIntermediate math and computer skillsAbility to operate/use basic hand and power toolsAbility to comprehend and communicate in English requiredAbility to work unsupervised and self-motivateAbility to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hoursSound work ethic, honesty and moral characterSAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
Follow departmental and company safety policies and programsMust wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
