Job Title: CNC Machinist
Job Description

We are seeking a second shift CNC Machinist to join our machine shop in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. The position requires experience with mills and offers pay between $30-$40 per hour. The CNC Machinist will set up and operate CNC machines (mills) to cut, shape, or form metal work pieces to specifications, working with Fanuc controls.

ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate CNC machines accurately.Work independently without assistance from supervision.Assist employees in job classifications of lesser skill levels.Prove out program and tooling in specific areas.Work from prints, sketches, process sheets, layouts, templates, and verbal instructions.Check CNC programs for errors and edit them to improve time and quality.Create programs when necessary.Consult with programmers to establish the sequence of operations and product program readout when required.Measure and adjust machine parts.Use precision measuring instruments to check parts.Improve quality by inspecting parts and ensuring they meet specifications.Gain self-inspection stamp within six months by machining high-quality products.Use large wrenches to tighten fixtures and manipulate large castings for machining.Essential Skills5 to 7 years of experience in a related field and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.High School diploma or equivalent.Ability to set up and run CNC machines within the allocated time.Knowledge of CNC controls and programming skills.Knowledge of tooling, including best grades for different materials, cutting speeds, feeds, drilling, threading, and machine capabilities.Ability to read blueprints, travelers, and measuring micrometers.Ability to make strong and safe setups to run at optimum speeds and depths of cut.Ability to troubleshoot and edit programs to safely increase metal removal rates and decrease cycle time.Ability to use precision measuring instruments to check parts.Ability to improve quality by inspecting parts to ensure they meet specifications.Must have own tools, such as hammers, wrenches, and pliers.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with low volume, high mix production.Familiarity with conventional lathe, Okuma, Magnum, and Cincinnati machines.Ability to perform 2-3 setups per part.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The work environment is very clean. The position is a second shift role from 2:15 pm to 10:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays.

This is a Permanent position based out of Rancho Santa Margarita, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $83200.00/yr.
