THIS POSITION HAS FUNCTIONAL LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

 

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Mold Tech will report to the Shift Supervisor any special instructions to ensure production is operating and quality standards are being maintained.  The Mold Tech will lead by exampole and will perform supervisory tasks such as designating Packer/Handlers and other team members to proper locations to meet production schedules.  In performing these respoonsibilities, associates are to work safely, efficiently, and cooperatively in a manner that demonstrates team member involvement.  The Mold Tech works with the Shift Supervisor to operate, troubleshoot, document, and communicate on all equipment that is not performing within specifications.

 

KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Set up machines for operation, change material and color to meet production schedulesMust have a technical understanding of process and raw materials usedKeep supervisor/management informed of all problemsStart up machines and monitor quality at start upMake appropriate adjustments to machine to maintain efficient production levels and document appropriatelyRespond to QA Techs by adjusting machines to maintain appropriate sizes and standardsOversee proper packaging proceduresReview production schedules and ensure machines are running production to meet customer demandsRespond to alarms and/or requests for assistance to correct machine malfunctions and/or Packer/Handler problemsUse proper Lockout/Tagout proceduresCoordinate with Quality Assurance and Maintenance Departments concerning machine operations and malfunctionsInspect scrap to prevent any usable product from being ground and record scrap numbersBe able to do the packer/handler job to assist with relief of breaksAssist with material handlingKeep the floor stocked with matrials required for production (fitments/handles/labels/tape, etc...)Maintain a safe working enviromentResponsible for ensuring quality and  housekeeping standards are maintained

MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Will need to cover for the supervisor in his absenceResponsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints by taking to supervisor to resolve problems Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

Extensive knowledge of injection molding machinery and processes to include mold set-ups, trouble shooting and exposure to maintenance problemsMaintain efficient production levels in a fast-paced enviromentMust be able to identify alpha/numeric product codesKnowledge of mechanical inspection techniques and practices
