Job Description
As a 2nd Shift Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment such as a front-end loader to load different styles of pellet mills, and maintaining watch over various bin levels. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, maintaining pellet mill feed rates, and ensuring a clean work area. Additionally, you will monitor and regulate dryer temperatures, check oxygen and carbon dioxide levels, and complete detailed reports on production metrics.
ResponsibilitiesOperate a front-end loader and other heavy equipment to load different styles of pellet mills.Maintain watch over bin levels, including raw material, C.P.M., Dry Hog, and fuel bins.Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, spot fires, and hot bearings.Maintain pellet mill feed rates and adjust or change pellet mill rolls/dies accordingly.Move trailers around the yard for the distribution team.Maintain a clean work area by clearing piles of sawdust around the mill room.Use catwalks and climb ladders up to 30 feet high.Apply mechanical and troubleshooting skills to solve pellet mill maintenance problems.Perform simple to complex math calculations.Work in high temperature and humidity areas.Monitor and regulate dryer inlet and outlet temperatures, recording changes at specific intervals.Check oxygen and carbon dioxide levels in the dryer using a handheld gauge and make necessary adjustments.Use AC drives and controllers to maintain optimal production and pellet quality.Complete daily and shift reports detailing various production metrics.Essential SkillsExperience in operation, general production, and handling heavy equipment such as loaders and excavators.Proficient in machine operation and preventative maintenance.Ability to perform general labor and operate a front-end loader and skid steer.Mechanical and troubleshooting skills.Ability to perform simple to complex math calculations.Additional Skills & QualificationsTraining will take 3 weeks to 1 month on 1st shift from 7am-3pm, Monday to Friday.Ability to work 2nd shift from 3pm-11pm, Monday to Friday.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
Candidates will work both indoors and outdoors, with up to 50% of the day spent outside in various weather conditions. The work environment includes high temperature and humidity areas and requires the ability to climb ladders and use catwalks.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
