**Job Title: Packer**
**Job Description**
The Packaging Operator is responsible for final packaging of flavors, including powders, spray dry, liquids, emulsions, and extracts, according to directions on each batch ticket. This role works closely with Batch Processors to ensure food safety, quality, efficiency, and accuracy in packaging. The operator may handle machinery such as mixers, spray dryers, and blending tanks, and must be able to read labels and follow safety procedures. The role involves packaging the correct finished product quantity with the correct label, monitoring equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
**Responsibilities**
+ Record operational and production data on specified forms.
+ Transfer materials, supplies, and products between work areas using equipment and sit-down forklifts.
+ Understand the impact and importance of food safety and its role in our products.
+ Communicate any food safety concerns to shift leads or management.
+ Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) including sanitation of equipment after each batch.
**Essential Skills**
+ Ability to read labels and follow safety procedures.
+ Experience in operating machinery such as mixers, spray dryers, and blending tanks.
+ Knowledge of food safety practices.
+ High School Diploma required.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience in manufacturing and packing.
+ Understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
+ Capability to lift and move materials as specified.

**Work Environment**
This is a food GMP environment with a strong smell due to flavor production. Employees must wear steel-toe shoes, a hair net, and no jewelry. Uniforms and lockers are provided. The job involves lifting and moving various weights including 50lb boxes and 25-30lb containers. Tasks are rotated to ensure a variety of responsibilities during the shift. The schedule for the 2nd Shift in the Dry Blend Department is 2pm - 10:30pm, Monday to Friday.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wauconda, Illinois.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
