2nd Shift/PM Operations Floor Supervisor

Purpose:

The Supervisor – Operations, will provide leadership and supervision for all yard operational activities including the safe movement and storage of inbound and outbound trailers, accurate check-in of deliveries and check-out of shipments. operations needs in picking process for store replenishment. Inbound and Outbound Logistics operations.2nd shift hours to be determined due to workload and ever changing.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

Two to four years of relevant work experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment is preferred and experience leading a team of 10 or more direct reportsFamiliarity with yard mule operations preferredProven track record of delivering results, managing processes, and continuous improvementExcellent problem solving and analytical skillsWorking knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety rules, strongly preferredMust possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressureStrong computer skills including Microsoft Office SuiteYard Management System experience preferred[ Manhattan systems experienceAbility to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work independently, and/or within a team, across all levels and diverse cultures, and the ability to lead team projectsExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skillsMust pass pre-employment background check

Essential Job Functions:

Supervise a team of 10 or more employees and their workflow to ensure maximum service levels are maintained.Participate in reviews, performance management and recognition for employees.Coach, train, and mentor Distribution Center (DC) team members in the areas of productivity, quality, and safety.Update reports for warehouse use and manage teams’ performance.Coordinate with carriers, the DC dispatch team, jockey truck operators and the DC Logistics team for daily planning and execution purposes.Handle and resolve conflict, process team member requests, engage team members proactively and lead team building activities.Maintain equipment through partnership with approved service providers.Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methodsMaintain clean, safe, efficient work environmentOther duties may be assigned as appropriate and in accordance with business needs

Working Conditions (travel & environment)

This position is hourly, knowing it may include hours which exceed eight hours in a day or forty hours in a week.  Working hours are subject to change due to business needs and working am and/or pm flexible shifts.Occasional travel required including air and car travelWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles.  The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to noisy.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS

Medium Work – Ability to exert 30-60 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20-30 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.  The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. There will be occasional exposure to outdoor conditions which could include excessive heat, cold and/or humidity, slippery and uneven walking surfaces and working around machinery or heavy equipment.
