JOB TITLE: Production Associate
Wage Information:
Hire: $20.07 per hour
4 month Top Rate: $21.37 per hour
Shift Premium: 50 Cents per hour.

A) JOB PURPOSE:
Assemble, test, and pack components that are supplied to a variety of automotive manufacturers as well as internal customers. Providing customer satisfaction through on-time delivery, quality, and continuous improvement is essential. Provide operator support as-needed throughout Dixon’s product lines, ensuring optimal deployment of our resources. Customer satisfaction will be achieved through teamwork and safety.
B) RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Manufacture, assemble, test and pack products following documented procedures.
2. Inspect components and finished assemblies both visually and mechanically (using gages, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices).
3. Perform “first-piece” approval process following documented procedures.
4. Actively participate in team activities, such as, Kaizen and other manufacturing teams.
5. Support and follow BorgWarner's health, safety, and environment practices and policies.
6. Support and practice “World Class” manufacturing techniques (Visual Factory, JIT, etc).
7. Perform routine preventive maintenance activities.
8. Continually improve production thru-put.
9. Develop competencies and move throughout Dixon’s product lines as-needed, ensuring optimal deployment of our resources.
10. Assist in improving first time quality (PPM) and reducing production scrap.
11. Assume process ownership through the use of SPC, check sheets, etc.
12. Assist in training of new production personnel.
13. Support and follow BorgWarner's quality policies and practices.
14. Good attendance on the job is essential.
15. Maintain work area in orderly condition with respect to tools, equipment and personal belongings.
16. Use of required PPE; following safety rules and procedures and training others; compliance with plant code of conduct.
17. Attendance at safety and health training sessions.
18. Housekeeping practice.
19. Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

WORKING ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
In performing the essential elements of this position may be exposed to moderate heat, light dust and fumes. Adequate hearing protection is required for 90
decibels and above.
Other Information:
2nd shift core hours are Monday-Friday 315 pm to 1130 pm. Overtime is required during the weekdays and Saturdays. Closed Campus break period.
Safety Glasses and Safety Shoes are required.
Tobacco Free Campus and No Cell phones are allowed on the production floor.
Must have reliable transportation.
