**Job Title: 2nd Shift Punch Press Operator I**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a 2nd Shift Punch Press Operator I to support our production team. As a Punch Press Operator, you will produce parts from metal using a CNC punch press machine. You will be responsible for ensuring the machine operates at full capacity, is stocked with needed materials, and is well-maintained.
**Responsibilities**
+ Measure completed work to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, and/or rulers.
+ Examine completed work for defects, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces, and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws.
+ Read work orders and production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting lines, or dimensions and tolerances.
+ Load work into machine.
+ Set up and start machine, monitor operations, and record operational data.
+ Test and adjust machine speeds or actions, according to product specifications, using gauges and hand tools.
+ Install, align, and lock specified punches, dies, cutting blades, or other fixtures in rams or beds of machines, using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, and hand tools.
+ Clean and lubricate machines.
+ Position, align, and secure work against fixtures or stops on machine beds or on dies.
+ Perform periodic checks on output.
+ Perform typical machine shop operations; set up and run, de-bur.
+ Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designer.
+ Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures.
+ Perform quality inspection/checks per quality documentation/control plan (including documentation of results).
+ Uphold site efficiency standards.
+ Learn and demonstrate continuous improvement for site Safety and Quality standards and procedures.
+ Meet the standards of the site attendance policy.
+ Assist in other work areas as assigned.
**Essential Skills**
+ Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
+ Ability to write simple correspondence.
+ Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
+ Ability to read and interpret prints and work orders.
+ Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
+ Prior experience with punch press, brake press, lathe, blueprint reading, milling, machining, calipers, micrometers, programming, setup, inspection, machine shop operations, axis, and G-code.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ High School diploma.
+ G-code editing experience and/or some experience working with presses.

**Work Environment**
This role requires working onsite in a facility where you will be frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. There is occasional exposure to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud. Physical demands include standing, sitting, using hands and fingers, handling or feeling, and talking or hearing. Occasionally, you may need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Shifts are Monday-Thursday from 4:30 pm to 3:00 am.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Permanent position based out of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $45000.00 - $45000.00/yr.
