Job Description
In this role, you will initially train on the 1st shift for a few months before transitioning to the 3rd shift. You will be responsible for operating some of the largest CMM machines in the United States, with products measuring up to 9 feet long. This position requires significant autonomy and the ability to work independently once transitioned to the 3rd shift.
ResponsibilitiesOperate CMM machines preprogrammed through PC-Dmis.Inspect and control product quality using hand gauges and CMM machines.Interact with shop floor personnel to ensure quality standards are met.Read and interpret blueprints and perform quality checks with tight tolerances.Essential SkillsExperience in inspection, quality control, and quality assurance.Proficiency in operating CMM machines.Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).Ability to read blueprints and use micrometers and other hand gauges.Experience in quality inspection, especially in metals.Additional Skills & QualificationsProgramming experience is a plus but not required.Work Environment
You will work in a clean environment with a climate-controlled quality lab. The facility specializes in medium-sized machining and produces components for industries such as railroads, including retarders, braking systems, and switch machines. The plant employs approximately 70 people and prides itself on its innovative product line and OEM supplier status.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $27.00/hr.
