Basic Qualifications: 

Prior laboratory experience in mechanical and/or metallurgical testing OR mechanical and metallurgical laboratory training relating to mechanical and metallurgical testing  High school diploma or GED preferred  Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. 

Preferred Qualifications 

3 years of lab related testing experience.  High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

Quality Tech Lab – In Process Lab

Description:
Performs metallurgical and/or mechanical testing on manufactured products. Handles complex testing of manufactures product due to a broad understanding of test systems, and/or metallurgy. Must demonstrate successful completion of training Qualifications and examinations for NADCAP accreditation.

 

Specific Responsibilities:  

Performs complex or unusual tests as required for metallurgical evaluation. Uses and is proficient in the use of instrumentation and control systems, including static and dynamic strain measurement, temperature control and measurement, atmospheric effects, hardness machine, load cells, tensile, x-ray plating, hydrogen determinator, fatigue, stress rupture, etc.  Troubleshoots faulty equipment and investigates suspect test data, such as conducting hardness and tensile strength correlation studies, etc.  Performs all types of mechanical testing as required, including the calculating, conducting, and reporting of test results. Performs special testing procedures and programs as required, such as investigating/verifying customer returns. Makes recommendations to the Lab Supervisor on improving equipment and test techniques.  Conducts a quarterly test fixture inventory and prepares orders for new tooling or replacement tooling as necessary.  Provides technical guidance for laboratory technicians less familiar with equipment and procedures.  Tests samples of manufactured products to verify conformity to specifications.  Records test results on standardized forms and writes test reports describing procedures used.  Calibrate and maintain all metallurgical/test equipment in test lab  Assist with audit preparations if required
