2nd Shift Reach Truck or Order Picker Driver

The Material Handler - Equipment Operator may fulfill multiple roles in the Distribution Center environment to help fulfill overall mission to process Inbound and/or Outbound freight accurately, timely, and safely.

Major Activities

Utilizes manual and/or powered industrial equipment to load and unload inventory.Utilizes material handling equipment (reach truck and/or order picker/cherry picker) to fulfill shipping and receiving orders.  Completes periodic safety training on the operation of machinery.Performs routine inspections of equipment and notifies leader of maintenance needs.May perform one or more of a variety of functions in a Distribution Center environment associated with fulfilling orders for retail stores and/or other Distribution Centers.  Potential work assignments include Receiving, Labeling, Putaway, Order Picking, Slotting, Replenishment, eComm order fulfillment, Hybrid throwing, Loading, and other “specialty” roles that require additional training/experience (e.g., Inventory Control).  Documents production log appropriately to include changes in assignments, downtime, meetings, etc. to ensure productivity records are accurate.

Minimum Education

High school education or equivalency preferred

2-4 years of prior use of manual and/or powered industrial equipmentBasic warehouse and/or Distribution Center knowledgeDemonstrated success working in a production environment

Preferred Special Certifications or Technical Skills

 Reach Truck or Order Picker Equipment Certification preferred

Physical Requirements

Frequent lifting and carrying of product weighing 5 to 60 poundsFrequent pushing or pulling of material and/or equipmentFrequent standing when working and when driving powered industrial equipmentFrequent walking, primarily in the warehouseRegular reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling and twistingRepetitive motion and substantial movement of the wrists, hands and/or fingers

Work Environment

Exposure to extreme temperatures dependent on external climate and proximity to dock doors/exitsModerate noise level from DC conveyor/sortation system and powered industrial equipmentOccasional vibration if/when operating powered industrial equipmentPotential exposure to fumes and airborne particles
