Road Service Coordinator / Dispatcher

Trucking services company in Southwest Charlotte is looking for a Road Service Coordinator / Dispatcher. Contract to Hire Monday-Friday 2p-10p (2nd shift). Pay = 21/hour

Responsibilities:

The Road Service Coordinator will assist in the daily operations of emergency roadside service, providing assistance to over 130,000 company-managed chassis nationwide, assessing and diagnosing chassis failures and dispatching appropriate service to customers based on the nature of each breakdown.Receives in-bound calls from customers in need of road serviceAssist with email service requests as needed due to volumeAssess and diagnose chassis failures through careful inquiryDetermines the nature of the failure and makes determination as to whether each situation is indeed an emergency, or service requested by the customer at company's expense.Identifies the unit in need of service; when and from where the unit last gated out, whether the unit is eligible for road service, whether it is a pool chassis, or net lease chassis.Maintains log of all road service events, from implementation to closeoutAssist with managing road service program with road service vendors/suppliersMonitor road service email and phone call requests after hours on select days weekly as assigned or arranged

Requirements:

3+ years of dispatch, service coordinator, transportation experience.Solid grasp of Microsoft Office products and environment, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPointAbility to multitask, handling multiple calls simultaneously, following up on each event and seeing it through to completionStrong customer service orientationGood listening skills, problem-solving orientation, and sense-of-urgencyStrong communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to work well with others in a professional corporate environmentHigh School diploma; Bachelor's degree preferred.
